Helen Hyo-Kyung Choi is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), nonprofit leader, and thoughtful communicator with over two decades of experience in strategic philanthropy, intercultural ministry, and community-based leadership. Her work is rooted in a commitment to equity, spiritual care, and community well-being.
She has helped raise more than $15 million for nonprofits, faith communities, and public sector initiatives across Canada. Past clients include the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, Homes First, Yellow Brick House Women’s Shelter, and the Toronto Children’s Concert Company. As a consultant and facilitator, Helen supports socially conscious organizations and congregations with a collaborative approach and a long-term vision for meaningful impact.
Helen recently completed her Master of Divinity at Trinity College (University of Toronto) and is now pursuing a Master of Psychospiritual Studies (MPS) at St. Michael’s College, focusing on trauma-informed ministry, spiritual care, and public health. She was recognized with the Excellence in Scripture Reading Award by the Canadian Bible Society.
She holds a BA in Political Science and postgraduate certifications in Public Relations, Volunteer and Fundraising Management, and International Media and Business (Yonsei University & MBC Television, Seoul). Helen has also been recognized with the Arirang Award from the Korean Canadian Women’s Association and the Fellowship in Inclusion and Philanthropy from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Global.
