Helen Hyo-Kyung Choi is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. She is a dynamic, empathetic and experienced community builder and speaker. She is also a leading public relations consultant to nonprofits, public sector organizations and socially conscious driven for-profit enterprises. She is a strong advocate for compassion, generosity and thoughtful investment in causes related to vulnerable women and children.
She brings a wealth of experience working with board of directors, donors, volunteers managing complex projects to scale which includes representing the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, Homes First, Toronto Children’s Concert Company (TC3), Errol Barrow Memorial Trust of Canada Trust - Scholarship, Willowdale Baptist Church, Yellow Brick House Women’s Shelter, and Waterloo District School Board (Forrest Hill Public School). In total, she has raised over $15 million dollars through her consultancy.
She is the recipient of Ryerson University’s Communicators Forum Award and the Hansa and Ramesh Mehta Fundraising Management Award; Fellowship in Inclusion and Philanthropy (Association of Fundraising Professionals – Foundation of Canada Philanthropy). Korean Canadian Women’s Association - Arirang Awardee for her commitment to serving the community.
Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Divinity. She completed Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Post Graduate Certificates in Public Relations, Fundraising, Volunteer Management, International Media and Business Exchange with MBC Television and Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea covering global affairs in East Asia.
